Lower Blood Pressure: Natuarally With Essential Oils

There are several Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils that you can use as a Prepper (and quite frankly be included in your preps) which can be applied directly on the skin on essential places like the heart and carotid ateries along the neck that will naturally lower blood pressure.

As a Certified Master Herbalist here are the Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils that I recommend:

1.  Cypress
2.  Ylang Ylang
3.  Aroma Life
4.  Lavender (A common Essential Oil that Everyone should have on hand)
5.  Marjoram

Since everyone's body is different and will respond differently to each oil you may have to try each oil separately to see what works for you're body.  As I have mentioned before Essential Oils will have a different effect i.e strong or mild depending on our bodies chemistry make-up.  The same is true for pharmaceutical drugs.  The good thing is Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils are natural and will not (normally) have the toxic effects like chemicals and pharmaceutical drugs.

How To Use:

Choose a single oil and apply 1-2 drops on the recommended area (heart and carotid arteries).
Wait 5-20 minutes, monitor your blood pressure rate and reapply if necessary.

Natural Mosquito Repellent: 3 Forumulas You'll Love Wearing

With warm weather comes annoying pest like black flies, mosquitoes, and other pesky flying insects.

Commercial insect repellant contain incredibly harmful chemicals and pesticides that can reside in your liver & other vital organs for YEARS.

As a Certified Master Herbalist over the years I've put together several formulas which you can use effectively when dealing with insects like mosquitoes.  You'll have the option of making a (1) Alcohol free mosquito spray, (2) Alcohol (based) mosquito spray and (3) a Rub on formula.  I designed the alcohol free mosquito spray recipe for those individuals who suffer from asthma and should not use alcohol based products.

I also want to highlight when I recommend certain amounts or drops of the Essential Oils I am referring to Young Living Essential Oils.  If you decide to use another companies Essential Oils you will have to increase your dosage as I am sure their quality and grade will not be at the standard of Young Living Essential Oils.  I also can not guarantee the effectiveness my recipes if you choose to use the different company's oils.  As the distillation process for manufacturing the oils will be different as well. Our competitors use the stems and leaves for making their essential oils whereas Young Living uses the flowers of the plants.  The difference is night and day in terms of quality and their medicinal or therapeutic affect.

Relief From Hemorrhoids Using Essential Oils

Hemorrhoids!  At some point or another, many people suffer from painful and annoying hemorrhoids.  Many women tend to suffer from hemorrhoids during their pregnancy or after giving birth.  Often times hormonal changes slow down their digestive systems which in turns then cause some form of constipation.  I won't be discussing the causes of hemorrhoids but rather how to obtain relieve from them using Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.

I know you're like me and when given a choice prefer to use natural and safe methods for treating various illnesses and for those of you who are pregnant or know someone who is pregnant this informative post is a wonderful natural way of dealing with hemorrhoids.

Each of our bodies are different.  Each of us will responds to treatment differently.  That's why I am going to provide you with several natural remedies for using Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils to deal with hemorrhoids.  Dr. Woodson Merrel, MD (Beth Israel Medical Center, NYC) said "Most Physicians do not understand the medicinal values of Essential Oils".  Did you know that there are OVER 50 hospitals in the USA that are using Young living Essential Oils for treating and healing their patients?

How to make a suppository (Bases for herbal suppositories are cocoa butter (most common), coconut oil or glycerin & gelatin):

To make the suppositories take a writing pen or magic marker or you can use your index finger whatever you want, wrap a small piece of baking paper (about 2 inch square ) or you can use wax paper, wrap it around your pen , then wrap that in the same size piece of aluminum foil , slide the end of the paper off the end of the pen just enough to twist it really good so the oil will not come out.

You should know that Essential oil has a flash point your Essential Oils to reach that temperature.  Coconut oil melts at approximately 76 degrees, so once inserted, your body temperature will melt the Coconut oil and then allow your body to absorb the Essential Oil that you used in the suppository.

Find something to put it in as a holder so it will stay upright in the freezer then warm up the coconut oil to room temp pour 1/2 the tsp. oil into it put in the freezer for an hour or so then add the Essential Oils needed to the coconut oil and the rest of the coconut oil put back in the freezer overnight. The next day it's ready!

Of course you should make several suppositories at the same time.

I made a special holder with dividers inside to hold them upright! I use many oils this way. I might as well say now that rectal suppositories are best shaped like bullets.

Here are my two recommended hemorrhoid blends:

Mixture #1:

4 drops of basil
1 drop of wintergreen
1 drop of cypress
1 drop of helichrysum

Mixture #2:
Combine the following oils with two to four drops of V-6 oil (or coconut oil).

Peppermint (one drop)
Helicrysum (two drops)
Geranium (two drops)
Cypress (two drops)

My Natural Bug/Insect Repellent That's Skin Friendly

Summertime is here and of course I know you and your family will be spending a great deal of time outside enjoying this wonderful season. Dealing with bugs and insects are simply a fact of life when spending time outdoors in the summer.  If you're anything like me and my family,  we love camping, gardening, hiking, and nature walks. We need something to keep the bugs off of us when we're outdoors.

Instead of putting harmful chemicals that may in some cases contain cancer causing proprieties why not mix together a Insect or Bug repellent that is actually repels the bugs and insects as well as good for your skin and at the same time does not harm the ozone layer or our precious environment?  It is important to understand the potential risks of using chemical insect repellents, especially on children. Summer is upon us and soon we will all be shopping for some sort of relief from bothersome insects. Due to the fear of insect-borne diseases such as encephalitis, malaria, Lyme disease, and West Nile Virus, most of us think nothing of covering ourselves and our children with a variety of bug repellent products. Parents should be aware of the potential health effects of using chemical insect repellent sprays.

There are a number of harmful side effects to most insect repelling products on the market today. The active ingredient in most of these products is called DEET, used in hundreds of brands in varying concentrations. DEET is a pesticide. Many consider DEET insect repellent to be a harmless or even beneficial mosquito repellent. Keep in mind that it is a product that is meant to do harm to living things.

This is the only Insect/Bug Repellent that I use for my family and I have to tell you my children love the wonderful fragrance. There's an ingredient that actually has a soothing and calming effect when applied to the skin.

My formula also has lots of Vitamin C which as you know your skins simply loves. Vitamin C will  help to combat and even reverse time’s effect on your skin as it is often included in many anti-aging formulas.

Now you have another reason for using Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils.  Don't worry I will be showing you many more ways that you and your family can benefit from these wonderful oils as they are Nature's gifts to us in abundance.

What are you waiting for?  Summertime is already here so it's an excellent time to make this skin friendly Insect/Bug Repellent and enjoy the great outdoors!  You're only a few drops away!
