20 Healthy Uses of Therapeutic Grade Lemon Essential Oil

Citrus Lemon has antiseptic-like properties and contains compounds that have been studied for their effects on immune function. It may serve as an insect repellent and may be beneficial for the skin. CAUTION: Citrus oils should NOT be applied to skin that will be exposed to direct sunlight or ultraviolet light within 72 hours so if you're planning on going outside after applying any the Lemon Essential Oil (Citrus) I would highly recommend that you wear long sleeve shirts or cover the area(s) were you have applied the Lemon Essential Oil.  Here are my 20 healthy recommendation on using Therapeutic Grade Lemon Essential Oil:

17.  Rub several drops of Lemon oil on varicose veins to improve circulation and relieve pressure on the veins.
18.  Rub a drop on a wart morning and night until it disappears.
19.  Rub on butcher's block or other cutting surfaces.  Lemon is a very effective disinfectant and germ killer.
20.  Put 10-15 drops of Lemon oil in each gallon of carpet cleaning solution to help pull out stains and brighten the rugs.

I also want to highlight when I recommend certain amounts or drops of the Essential Oils I am referring to Young Living Essential Oils.  If you decide to use another companies Essential Oils you will have to increase your dosage as I am sure their quality and grade will not be at the standard of Young Living Essential Oils.  I also can not guarantee the effectiveness my recipes if you choose to use the different company's oils.  As the distillation process for manufacturing the oils will be different as well. Our competitors use the stems and leaves for making their essential oils whereas Young Living uses the flowers of the plants.  The difference is night and day in terms of quality and their medicinal or therapeutic affect.

DIY: Natural Sunscreen Protection For You & The Kiddos!

Here my secret recipe (well not so secret anymore) for getting that optimum sun protection.  Your skin is the first line in defense with regards to your body. The human skin is the outer covering of the body. In humans, it is the largest organ of the integumentary system.

If you're reading this blog post you may or may not already know the negative and/or harmful effects of chemically produced sunblock or sunscreen lotion.

The Environmental Working Group has compiled a list of 700 name-brand sunscreens along with the toxic chemicals they contain. You'll find the list at http://www.ewg.org/sunscreen/

As the EWG reports, many sunscreen products contain cancer-causing chemicals that get absorbed right through the skin:
Some sunscreens absorb into the blood and raise safety concerns. Our review of the technical literature shows that some sunscreen ingredients absorb into the blood, and some are linked to toxic effects. Some release skin-damaging free radicals in sunlight, some act like estrogen and could disrupt hormone systems, several are strongly linked to allergic reactions, and still others may build up in the body or the environment. FDA has not established rigorous safety standards for sunscreen ingredients.

As you can see I've listed the basic ingredients for you detailing exactly what you need to mix together and create a wonderful Sun Protection using Young Living Therapeutic Essential Oils that will not harm your body, but rather enhances it and makes your skin complexion radiant, glow, and vibrant at the same time.

Remember because it's oil based it will not wash off easy when you or your kids happen to hit the waves. ALL of these Therapeutic Grade Essential Oils may be used without any harmful or toxic effects on the body, giving you the profound reason why these Essential Oils should be part of your everyday usage.

--------------------------

Destress Tea (C affine-Free)

4 Drops of Spearmint Essential Oil #: 3638
6 Drops of Lavender Essential Oil #: 3575
3 Drops of Lemon Citrus Essential Oil#: 3578
2 Tablespoons Stevia or Honey (optional)
    12 ounces Ice cold water

This is a soothing blend tea that is perfect for unwinding and relaxing any time of the day or night.

----------------------------------------------

Lavender Earl Grey Iced Latte

INGREDIENTS
2 cups water
3 Earl Grey tea bags
3 drops of Lavender Essential Oil #: 3575
2 tablespoons agave nectar, Stevia or Honey
1 cup ice
1/2 cup milk

DIRECTIONS
In a medium sized saucepan, bring the 2 cups of water to a boil. Remove from heat, then add tea bags. Let steep for five minutes.

In a pitcher or container, add the 1 cup of ice and milk.
Set aside until your tea is finished steeping.  To speed things up you can always place your stepping tea in the refrigerator.

After steeping is finished, remove the tea bags. Give 'em a good squeeze to ensure a stronger flavor. Discard to the compost bin if you have one. Strain the tea base into a liquid measuring cup with a nice spout on it. This will help you pour the mixture into your picture more easily. Add the agave nectar, Stevia or honey and stir until dissolved.

Pour the tea mix into your pitcher with the iced milk.  Add the Lavender Essential Oil #: 3575.  Swish to mix. Serve immediately over ice or allow to thoroughly cool before serving.

Makes 2-4 servings.

Enjoy and of course Be Blessed!
